Meet Original, our signature recycled chopping board and the design that started Sasni in early 2023.

At 45 x 25 x 2cm and a solid 2kg, it has a satisfyingly substantial feel that you notice as soon as you pick it up. The weight helps keep it stable on the bench, while the curved silhouette and circular handle make it just as useful for serving as it is for everyday prep.

Original is made from 100% recycled HDPE, giving plastic waste another life as something useful, durable and worth leaving out.

And because recycled material never behaves exactly the same way twice, every board has its own variation in colour and speckle. No two are exactly alike.

How do I care for my Sasni board?

Can I use it as a serving board?

Absolutely. Sasni boards are designed for both prep and serving, so they can go straight from chopping on the bench to serving at the table.

Why does my board look slightly different from the photos?

That’s part of what makes it yours. Because Sasni boards are made using recycled material, the placement of colour and speckles varies naturally from board to board. No two are exactly alike.

What is the board made from?

Our boards are made from 100% recycled high-density polyethylene (HDPE), giving plastic waste another life as a solid, durable everyday kitchen product.

Will my Sasni chopping board scratch?

Yes. Like any chopping board, knife marks and scratches will naturally develop with use. This is completely normal and part of a board that’s made to be used, chopped on and enjoyed.

Can I put my Sasni chopping board in the dishwasher?

Yes. Sasni boards can be washed in the dishwasher on cycles under 60°C. You can also hand wash with warm, soapy water.

Is the Sasni chopping board food safe?

Yes. Our boards are tested after production to ensure they are 100% food safe and
BPA-free. They’re made from recycled HDPE plastic, a durable material commonly
used in food-safe applications.
